1. Who are we ?

BSCA SA respects your privacy and your Personal Data (as defined below). Therefore, it only protects and processes your Personal Data in accordance with the Belgian law of 30 july 2018 on the protection of privacy, including the changes made by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

It complies with the legal requirements governing the use of surveillance cameras and image rights.

3. Why do we collect data?

  • To enable us and our trading partners to process your reservation.
  • To provide the services which you have purchased from us or our trading partners.
  • To help you find your lost items or luggage.
  • To facilitate access to thirdparty products and services on our Internet site and our CRL Airport application.
  • To send you newsletters.
  • To recommend you our commercial offers or those of our trading partners, so that they are adapted to your needs.
  • To contact you in order to carry out customer satisfaction surveys for the purpose of analysis, quality improvement, developing services, optimising website performance, evaluating the success of advertising campaigns or adapting services to your needs.
  • To comply with the compulsory clauses of the applicable laws.
  • To improve your comfort as a customer before your arrival and during your stay on the airport site.
  • To provide you with services via the CRL Airport application or via the WiFi network connection provided by Telenet, such as geolocation to manage your journey to and from the airport, information related to your flight, offers from our commercial partners located on the airport, the offer of coupons and discounts specific to airport services and shops. The geolocation service operates based on WiFi and Bluetooth technologies. Geolocation also allows us to collect statistical data on a map to determine which areas of the airport are the most (or least) visited.
  • To respond to applications from people applying for a job on the BSCA website through the "jobs" tab.
  • To give you the possibility to get a visitor's badge when needed.

4. When do we collect data ?

When you browse our Internet sites, we may collect:

  • Your travel preferences;
  • Information about your browsing behaviour on our Internet sites and our mobile applications;
  • Information about when you click on one of our adverts, including those published on the websites of other organisations;
  • Information relating to how you access our digital services, including the operating system, IP address, the online log-in and browsing details.

When you subscribe to the wi-fi service provided by Telenet, we may collect

  • Data from your mobile device such as device name, device type, operating system, MAC address or your location, how you access our digital services, IP address, online credentials. From the information required to register for Wi-Fi, we will collect your email, last name, first name, date of birth, address, postcode, language, country, reason for travel. 
  • Information necessary from your registration such as email, name, surname, birthdate, language, country, travel reason.

When you purchase products or services from us or online, we may collect:

  • Information necessary to register you on our e-commerce platform or by contacting us directly such as your title, surname, first name, address, postcode, country, telephone number, date of birth, email address, number plate, vehicle make, billing details, flight number.

  • Information concerning passengers, passport details or other details concerning identity documents; Information about your purchases, including what you purchased, when and where you purchased it as well as how you paid for it and your credit information or other payment information;
  • Information about your browsing behaviour on our Internet sites and our mobile applications;
  • Information about when you click on one of our adverts, including those published on the websites of other organisations;
  • Information relating to how you access our digital services, including the operating system, IP address, the online log-in and browsing details.

When you contact us or we contact you or when you take advantage of special offers, take part in competitions, surveys or fill in questionnaires about our services, we may collect:

  • Personal data which you provide, including via e-mail, post and telephone or on social media, such as your name, your username and personal details;
  • E-mail details and other digital communications which we sent to you and which you opened, including all links which you clicked on. Your feedback and contributions to client surveys and questionnaires. We may also use images from the Televigilance Control Centre, an IP address and browsing information collected in or close to our shops, premises, car parks and other buildings.

When you download the CRL Airport application for free from the application store on your mobile device, we may collect:

  • Your surnames, first names, addresses and email addresses;

  • Your location details and flight number; 

  • The necessary information from your mobile device, such as your Media Access Control (MAC) address, device ID and IP address, to allow you to use the application;

  • We will only process your Personal Data via the CRL Airport Application, in accordance with the purposes described in point 3;

When you encode the data needed to produce a visitor badge.

Other sources of personal data:

  • We may also use personal data from other sources, such as companies specialised in providing information, distribution partners and public registers;
  • If you use your social network log-ins to connect to our platforms and online services, e.g. Facebook, Google+ and Twitter, you accept to share your user details with us. This includes your name, e-mail address, date of birth, your location and any other information which you choose to share with us.

Personal data which you provide regarding other persons

  • We use the personal data which you provide regarding other persons, such as those linked to your reservation. When providing this personal data, please ensure that the persons in question have given their consent and allow you to use their data. You must also ensure, where applicable, that they understand how we may use their personal data.

5. Image rights

When an event or marketing campaign is organized at the airport by us or our partners, you may be filmed or photographed during that event or marketing campaign. These photos and video images can be used for the "aftermovies" of the event or marketing campaign (videos tracking the event/marketing campaign) and can be published on our social media networks and/or websites.

 

If you are photographed or filmed during this event or marketing campaign, and do not wish to appear in an "aftermovie", on our social media networks and/or Websites, you may request that your photo and/or video image be deleted in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

6. Cookies

On our Internet sites, we use cookies and conduct web-based statistical surveys in order to study how visitors use our site. This information helps us to improve our website. A cookie is a file stored on your computer. During a subsequent visit to our website, these cookies can then be recognised.

7. Security

BSCA SA applies technical and organisational measures aimed at protecting personal data which we manage against any manipulation, loss, destruction or use by unauthorised persons. Our security measures are subject to continuous improvements and take technological developments into account.

8. Your rights in terms of protection of personal data

You have the right to access your personal data and to rectify or delete it.

To exercise your rights to access, omit, rectify, delete, restrict, oppose the processing of and cancel consent to your data, as well as rights relating to data portability, you must send a clear request to gdpr@charleroi-airport.com , or send a letter by post to the following address: Data Protection Officer, 21 rue des Fusillés, 6040 Charleroi. 

Please state precisely what you wish to see, correct or delete. This request must be signed and dated. BSCA SA shall process your request within one (1) month of receipt of your letter or request.

9.Use of the data:

  • With our sub processors

 

In order to fulfill your requests, reply to your requests for information, process your orders, accept coupons, allow you to participate in surveys and contests, and provide you with other features, services and materials on our sites and applications, we share your personal data with third-party service providers who perform functions on our behalf. These are companies that: host or operate our sites and application, make payments, analyze data, provide customer service, postal or delivery services. They are also advertisers or other third parties who administer or participate in our promotions.

 

They have access to the personal information necessary to perform their duties but may not use it for any other purpose. In addition, they must treat such personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and in compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations.

 

BSCA SA may also transmit some of your personal data to third party service providers for the purposes listed in point 3.

 

  • With our commercial partners on the location of the airport and tourism operators

 

We use legitimate interest as a basis for sending you our newsletters containing offers and information about the airport, commercial offers of products and services promoted by our business partners located on the airport site and tourist operators. 
You may withdraw your consent at any time by choosing to unsubscribe from these newsletters.

 

  • With third parties

We are committed not to sell, rent, transfer or give access to your personal data to other third parties without your prior consent, unless we are obliged to do so for a legitimate reason (legal obligation or, fight against fraud or abuse, exercise of the rights of defence of a legitimate interest, etc.).

 

When you consent to the sharing of data with third parties at the time of your E-commerce account registration or for your WIFI registration by ticking the box "I authorise Brussels South Charleroi Airport to share my data with third parties", we may sell, assign, rent or otherwise give access to your personal data to third party companies for marketing, promotional or data enrichment purposes. 

If you wish to withdraw your consent for data sharing with third parties, simply go to your customer profile in your personal area and deactivate this option in the "my profile" tab.

In certain cases, your personal data may be sent outside of Belgium and the European Union. Within this context, BSCA SA shall take all the necessary contractual and technical protection measures to ensure that any transmitted personal data shall be adequately protected against loss or illicit use.

10. Retention of personal data

Your personal data will be retained for the necessary period in order to fulfil the conditions set out in point 3 as well as to comply with our legal obligations. As far as direct marketing is concerned, your data is kept for two years after our last contacts, exchanges, mail openings, reactions to our marketing campaigns, financial transactions. 

11. Amendments

BSCA SA may, at any time and for various reasons, make corrections, provide supplements or carry out amendments to this “Privacy Notice”. The most recent version can be consulted on our Internet sites on a permanent basis. This version was corrected in July 2019.
