Please note if you are Italian or Greek and wish to travel. In accordance with European regulations, Italian and Greek paper identity cards will cease to be valid from 3 August 2026, regardless of their expiry date. Consequently, paper identity cards can no longer be used for travel abroad after this date.
To travel or prove your identity, you must now hold the new biometric card (plasticised, with a chip, biometric data and a QR code).
