Brussels South Charleroi Airport is getting in the mood for summer: We’re ready and waiting to welcome passengers who are looking forward to their holiday adventures!

Press Release Summer holiday

CHARLEROI, 27 June 2025 – Summer holidays start here for the next two months! From this Saturday (for schools in the Flemish Region), and a week later (for those in the French Community of Belgium), Charleroi airport is preparing to welcome a large number of passengers who will be flying to more than 100 destinations from the airport. And while travelling always requires a bit of preparation, getting people to travel requires just as much, especially during the holiday season.

Seaside or mountains? Europe or beyond? With family or with friends? Whatever you decide, Charleroi airport is the perfect place to start your journey! No fewer than 100 direct destinations, and the same number of indirect ones via the Pegasus network, are available this summer. Including some new routes.

Ryanair, who boast the wides range of destinations from Charleroi, introduced flights to Katowice (Poland), Salerno (Italy) and Volos (Greece) a few weeks ago. As for Spanish airline Volotea, they will be offering two flights a week to Nice from 7 July for the two summer months, replacing Bordeaux in the schedule since February. Air Corsica has resumed all its flights to four fantastic destinations in Corsica: Ajaccio, Bastia, Figari and Calvi.

Wizz Air touched down on the tarmac at Charleroi more than 20 years ago, and they are still offering a wide range of destinations in Bulgaria, Albania, Georgia and Hungary. Last but not least, Pegasus flies to almost a hundred destinations in Europe and beyond, with a stopover in Istanbul.

Entertainment and a warm welcome

More than 52,000 travellers, including lots of families, will be passing through Charleroi Airport during the first weekend of the holidays, from 27 to 29 June. And the second weekend of the holidays, from 4 to 6 July, will be just as busy, if not slightly busier. Throughout the summer, around 35,000 passengers (arrivals and departures) will pass through the airport every day.

In order to provide the best possible welcome for all these passengers, the airport’s staff and partners will be pulling out all the stops to help passengers and keep them informed in order to reduce waiting times. Additional staff have been hired this summer to look after passengers and their luggage.

There will also be entertainment for children, especially on Saturday 6 July, as well as some “special summer” decorations! The Plaza, in front of terminal 1, will welcome passengers and their companions for a drink or a bite to eat before catching their flight. With the added bonus of a children’s play area. After the security checkpoints, the terrace, with a view of the runway, will also be open all the time, with a barbecue available every Friday depending on the weather.

Be prepared so you can enjoy a carefree holiday

In order to avoid any stress leading up to take-off, plan the different stages of your journey in advance for a stress-free airport experience.

Some top tips:

  • Check to make sure your ID documents are valid (identity card or passport for each passenger, including children and babies).
  • Get your hand luggage ready, making sure you know the maximum dimensions and what liquids you are allowed, where the 100 ml rule applies.
  • Book your transport in advance (Flibco shuttle, taxis, Tec bus, etc.), and a parking space if you choose to drive.
  • Arrive at the terminal 2.5 to 3 hours before your flight (please note that check-in desks open at 4 am for morning flights).
  • Relax and enjoy the services available at the airport, because your holiday starts as soon as you get to the airport!
